Desert Weather

Blowing Sand. Widespread Dust. Haze. Drizzle. 

These are some of the weather conditions that www.weatherunderground.com reports and predicts for Jordan today. While much of America is still dealing with snow, ice, and cold temperatures, we are encountering weather of another breed.

Technically, it is still winter here, although the low temperatures are now behind us. I am really glad for that because, even though the temperatures do not usually get below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, the cold feels really cold. But the big deal with cold temperatures here is that it is next to impossible to heat stone and concrete houses with little portable propane heaters. Even electric heat does not do the trick. The wealthy have central heat fueled with diesel; we do not fall into that category of people with central heat.   

Enough of that. It might be sandy, dusty, and hazy outside but we are not shivering inside! That is reason to be thankful!
