Ivy

Thursday, we found the Greenshop in Sweifieh. It is a small organic food store, perhaps the only one of its kind in all of Jordan. Organics is not a prevalent concept in Jordan but this store has a small supply of produce such as organic pomegranates, oranges, and pomelos. Compared to Stateside prices, organic produce here is inexpensive.

After selecting a few supplies and groceries, we talked a while with the clerk, a Filipino girl named Ivy. We invited her to visit the International Services and Filipino Service at the Amman church. We told her about Pastor Ojie, the Filipino pastor. She was alone in the shop and she began to cry. She said she has been in Jordan for three years and feels all alone. She works at the shop from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. six days a week and is on call on her day off. She does not have many friends. We began to talk to her about the church family and what God could do in her life. Still crying, she hugged me and said she felt like she had found her Mom and Dad.

Ivy came to the International Service Friday and God touched her. Bishop Reed preached about walking with God. It was the perfect first service for Ivy. We are believing that God will continue to draw Ivy and fill her with the peace of the Holy Spirit very soon!
