Way back in 2009, we met Carlton Clark in Jordan. We were
there working and he came over to minister during the annual Jordan National
Conference. Brother Clark is an evangelist and we were able to connect with him
when he flew into Minneapolis to preach for a couple of weeks. It seemed
fitting that we would meet him at the Holy Land Restaurant, since it is owned
by a Jordanian and we met Brother Clark in Jordan.
After enjoying Arabic food at the Jordanian restaurant, we
walked down the street to the Crescent Moon Bakery, an Afghani cafe and bakery.
I ordered a chai tea…Afghan-style. That means that it was loaded with cardamom,
so much so that Bill would not even try it. I thought it was delicious.
Minneapolis is a perfect picture of the term
“multi-cultural.” I suppose you could get just about any type of food you
wanted here, from Ethiopian to Thai to…yes…authentic Afghanistan-style tea.
We sat outside the Crescent Moon Bakery, then walked around
a bit as Bill and Brother Clark talked about the evangelistic life…a life that,
honestly, only evangelists can understand.
