This week, upon our arrival back in St. Louis, I have heard the expression "okey dokey" three times. It struck me because it is not a phrase I hear often in other areas of the States that we visit. Just as "uff duh," a Norwegian word that is an exclamation of surprise or dismay, is primarily spoken in the north and northwestern areas of the United States (we heard it a lot in Minnesota), "okey dokey" seems to be more common in the Midwest and South. It is simply another, somewhat fun and folksy way to say "Okay."
Just one more little tidbit that contributes to America's colorful diversity!
