During our 2009 assignment to Jordan, I was frequently amused by English translations of Arabic words. Although the translated works were often misspelled, they provided much needed comic relief. Despite their inaccuracy, I was immensely grateful for the English signage, since, other than numbers 1-10, we cannot read Arabic! We would have been in quite a pickle without the English translations, such as they were. Have fun trying to decipher a few of the translations below.
