Let God Into Your Life

When we don’t share with Jesus our hurts, we block Him out of our lives. We don’t think of it like that, but when we don’t include Him in what we are going through, it is like we shut the door in His face. He is standing at the door, knocking. He wants us to let Him in so that He can help us and spend time with us.

When we hoard all of our pain and don’t let Him into our lives, we are putting up a thick wall to Him. It is a barrier. It says, “Keep Out.” We don’t want to face the pain in our hearts so we don’t pray about it. As a result, our relationship with Him is stifled. Closeness is hindered. We “love” God but our relationship with Him becomes a rote lifestyle.

When we are going through stuff in life, God designed marriage as an opportunity for each person to express their hurts to the other to receive comfort and strength. Even men need this! If for some reason a spouse does not want to communicate, a dimension of the relationship is vacant.

God does not want us to be like this with Him. He wants us to feel free to come before Him with joys and sorrows. Whether we are happy or sad, He wants to hear our voice.

We just have to have faith in Him. That is the prerequisite. We have to believe that He exists and that He will reward people who diligently seek Him.

Quit being so stubborn. Just surrender your will to God. Once you do, you’ll wish you had a long, long time ago. This is a win-win situation!
