Search the Scriptures

These days, a lot of people are using the phrases "A Place to Connect" and "A Place to Belong" to advertise their churches. These slogans appeal to people who are hurting, feeling abandoned, and in need of love.

But just what are most people connecting to and what are they belonging to? The answer all depends on the doctrine (teaching) of that particular assembly. If the doctrine is not in line with the doctrine of Jesus and His apostles, then people are connecting and belonging to something other than the true vine of Jesus Christ (John 15:1).

There are many dangerous and strange philosophies floating around that appeal to those who want to connect and belong. But these philosophies are not doctrinally sound. Before you join yourself to a certain church, search the Scriptures (John 5:39; Acts 17:11).

We must make sure that those we connect with follow and teach Bible doctrine (as opposed to the teachings of men) about who God is and the plan of salvation.

Here are some basic Scriptures to get you started on your Bible journey: Deuteronomy 6:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-6.

The biblical theme of God's oneness and the New Testament plan of salvation (Repentance, Water Baptism in the Name of Jesus, and Receiving the Holy Ghost) are solid Bible doctrines that you can build your life - and eternity - on with confidence.

Yes, the Church of the Living God is a place to connect and place to belong! Join yourself to the True Vine - Jesus Christ.
