Red Wing Repeat

Occasionally, we visit a church with an out-of-the ordinary architectural style. The church in Red Wing, Minnesota is such a place. I blogged about this church when we visited last summer; this time I took a few pictures. The church is a portion of the first floor of a three-story apartment building. Originally, this building was a hotel, then a grocery store, and, most recently, a Salvation Army site. The freezer doors from the grocery store days have been preserved and the wood floor – along with the high, antique ceiling – give the church a unique feel. In the front alcove, which is surrounded by windows on three sides, the Hansons have placed a table with a Bible and an Exploring God’s Word Bible study chart…a great idea and good use of space.

Also in Red Wing is the Ferrin's Furniture Store, just a few blocks from the church. About a year or so ago, Bill mistakenly received emails with purchase orders attached. The person sending the emails typed in the correct name (Bill Ferrin) but the incorrect email provider. So, Bill called the number on the purchase order and talked to the Bill Ferrin for whom the emails were supposed to have been directed. Ferrin is an uncommon name, especially spelled as it is. We have yet to discover if Bill Ferrin is related to Bill Ferrin, but perhaps a future visit will solve the mystery!
