Le Royal Hotel - Amman

On the Le Royal's website, rates start at just $200.00 a night for the Deluxe King room. If that is too unsophisticated for you, the options go up from there, with the Executive Suite topping out at $720.00 per night. If you really feel like splurging, go all out for the Royal Suite, which is a mere $4,000.00 a night.

The Le Royal Hotel is a landmark in Amman. "If you get lost, just look for the Le Royal," we were told during our first visit to Jordan back in 2009. Knowing where this hotel is in relation to the rest of the city helps us keep our bearings and find our way back to the 3rd Circle church if we get lost; it is within easy walking distance from the church. About anywhere you go, you are not too far from catching a glimpse of this hotel.

I remember someone saying that this luxury hotel was built by an Iraqi company, thus earning the nickname "The Tower of Babel." I'm not sure if that is true or not, but it seems to fit, considering the appearance of the building.

At night, the building is lit with the most beautiful colors that fluctuate from pinks to blues to greens... Quite lovely. I caught this photo one foggy morning as we set out to extend our visas.
