St. Louis Summer

We arrived back into the U.S. May 14th. Our summer has been spent in St. Louis, our hometown. Other than three weeks of ministry in Arizona and intermittent ministry here in the St. Louis area, we have been here waiting on the Lord. Several doors of ministry opportunities have been open to us, but we have learned that just because a door is open does not mean that God wants us to walk through it.

Waiting is not always easy. It is generally much easier to work than it is to wait. But waiting is imperative, because often God is doing things behind the scenes that will only be realized later.

As we have waited, I have been working on a new book and Bill has been working on songs he has written. We have spent time with our families and our home church and have tried to readjust to life in the United States. (For me, especially, this is not a task that is achieved quickly. After lengthy immersion in a foreign culture, it takes a while to reacclimatize to life and ministry on the home turf. I'm not sure I ever fully revert to things as they were before we went overseas. Working on foreign soil has a way of changing a person forever.)

Now, it is time to travel again, but not to foreign lands this time, but to territory that is familiar to us. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maine, Connecticut, North Dakota… The time is right. We don't yet know God's long-term plan for us, but the next four months will see us ministering to churches here in the good old USA. We are looking forward to God doing great things!
