God's Workmanship

My husband and I have traveled throughout the United States for many years. Quite often, we see brand new subdivisions being built and new developments being erected. Have you ever noticed that each building company has unique characteristics that they offer homeowners? There will be usually be slight variations since each homeowner will want customizations but you can often identify who has built a house by its floor plan, materials used, and style. For example, one builder might specialize in intricate stone work while another builds basic, entry-level homes. Each builder has a signature look which defines them. 

God considers us His "workmanship." Whoever we allow to build our lives will determine what our building looks like. People who allow the devil to build their lives tend to have certain traits, ways of thinking, and behavior patterns. They tend to be fearful, pessimistic, and cynical. When people build their own houses, the results are usually just as bad, if not worse. But when we allow God to build us up the way He desires, the result is love, joy, and peace. He places His signature stamp on our lives which defines us as His own.
