The Turning Point

If you know us, you know that this is my husband, Bill.

This seems like just an ordinary snapshot, right? It could have been taken on just about any street in America.

To Bill, however, this stretch of road is anything but ordinary. Here in Creve Coeur Park in St. Louis is where he came close to death. He was riding his Harley and was taking the corner way too fast. He laid down his bike and he came down with it. The guy riding the bike behind him managed to avoid hitting him as Bill rolled onto the grass. It was nothing less than a miracle that he was not killed or at least seriously injured.

I'd heard Bill talk about this particular accident before but had never seen the place it happened. It was a turning point for him. He began to ride his bike more safely and not too long after, he quit riding altogether. A few years later, he gave his life to God and this incident became one of many reminders of God's goodness in his life long before he even knew Him.

So this is not just any road. Just as Paul could probably take you to the exact spot on the road that led to Damascus, this spot is significant. It looks ordinary to everyone else, but we know it as a place where God extended His grace to a searching young man in need of divine help and direction.
