Boston

Wednesday Bill and I drove down to see our friend Sandra, who was in Boston for work-related meetings. We checked out some of the historic sites along the Freedom Trail, ate some real Italian food in the North End, got really cold... Hey, it was fun, cold or not!
.
We got to know Sandra and her husband (Muteib) and one of their daughters (Madaline) during our time overseas.
.
We have great memories of our time together with them. One of the most memorable is that of Muteib and Scott driving on the Desert Highway - at night - to rescue us and the car we were driving. Well, we weren't driving it at the time; it had rebelled (again) and was sitting comfortably on the side of the dark road.
.
My mother was with us. Fortunately, she is not a worrier by nature so we sat and chatted while we waited for our rescuers. Muteib and Scott had to stop and change two flat tires (that's not a typo...two tires) on their long journey to locate us.
.
When they arrived, Muteib looked almost angelic; I was so glad to see him.
.
That's not the only rescue operation Muteib engaged in to help us. But we'll save those for another time.
